power supply. Suitable for industrial 24vdc or 24vac supplies, 12v or 24v battery
systems, or supply from any low-cost AC or DC transformer pack. Fully in-rush
and surge protected. -av power option must be ordered with full optical/galvanic
isolation.
rdcxxxxx hv 48v ± 20% (38 to 58v) DC
Accepts
unregulated 48v DC power ± 20%. Suitable for industrial +48vdc or -48vdc power
supplies. Fully in-rush and surge protected. -hv power option must be ordered
with full optical/galvanic isolation. It cannot be supplied with partial isolation.
rdcxxxxx
gv 12v 24v & 48v (9 to 48v) DC
Accepts unregulated 9 to 48v DC power supply.
Suitable for industrial 24vdc & 48vdc supplies, 12v or 24v battery systems, or supply
from any low-cost DC transformer pack. Fully in-rush and surge protected.
rdcxxxxx 1ac - 110 vac mains
Accepts mains 110 vac power
supply +/- 10%. Unless otherwise stated in the data sheets, includes a wall-mount
transformer pack with 2-blade USA style plug.
rdcxxxxx 2ac
- 230 vac mains

stated in the data sheets, includes a wall-mount transformer pack with 2-blade
German style plug.
rdcxxxxx 5v - 5v DC ± 5%
Accepts
well-regulated 5v DC +/- 5% power supply. Suitable for OEM or panel use with clean,
well-regulated power supplies. (NOT SUITABLE FOR BATTERY POWER!)
rdcxxxxx
12v 12v DC +/- 5%
Accepts well-regulated 12v DC +/- 5% power supply. Suitable
for OEM or panel use with clean, well-regulated power supplies. (NOT SUITABLE
FOR 12V BATTERY POWER!)
rdcxxxxx 24v 24v DC +/- 5%
Accepts
well-regulated 24v DC +/- 5% power supply. Suitable for OEM or panel use with
clean, well-regulated power supplies. (NOT SUITABLE FOR 24V BATTERY POWER!)
| Isolation Options for
Non-Fiber Products |
Most data comm converter/isolator/repeater products have 3 electrical
"ports" - 2 "data ports" and 1 "power port". This means you a total of 3 potential
grounds to consider. You must see each specific product data sheet for details
of the exact options available for that product.
|
| rdcxxxxx 2p
- Partial 2 of 3 ground 2500v galvanic/optical isolation |
2 of 3 ground isolation means 1 data ground
is 100% isolated from both the other data ground and the power supply ground,
while the other data ground is assumed the same as the power supply ground. This
assumption is Ok if both the device and RobustDC repeater share the same power
supply (and therefore the same ground), but it will cause problems if they have
subtly different grounds. Note that virtually all "opto-isolated" data comm products
on the market are 2-of-3 ground isolation only.
|
| rdcxxxxx
3p - Full 3 of 3 ground 2500v galvanic/optical isolation |
3 of 3 ground isolation means both data grounds
are 100% isolated from each other and the power supply ground. In DC powered systems,
this is always the safest design option.
|
| Isolation Options for Fiber Optics |
Any powered fiber optic to electrical
data comm converter has 2 electrical "ports" - 1 "data port" and 1 "power port".
This means you a total of 2 potential grounds to consider. You must see each specific
product data sheet for details of the exact options available for that product.
|
| rdcxxxxx 1p - Non-isolated converter |
Non-isolated means this converter assumes
the electrical data comm ground is the same as the power supply ground. This assumption
is Ok if both the device and converter share the same power supply (and therefore
the same ground), but it will cause problems if they have subtly different grounds.
|
| rdcxxxxx 2p - Full 2 of 2 ground 2500v galvanic/optical
isolation |
Full 2 of 2 ground isolation means the electrical
data comm ground is 100% isolated from the power supply ground. In DC powered
systems, this is always the safest design option.
|
| Connector Options |
Below are the connector options various
RobustDC products support. You must see each specific product data sheet for details
of the exact options available for that product.
|
| rdcxxxxx dd
9-pin D-sub shell connecter |
Robust DataComm uses only quality parts from vendors
with published specs. We know that all of our 9-pin connectors come with at least
30 micron gold plating rated at 500 insertion cycles. 'Gold-plating' results in
a consistant layer and thickness of gold on the contacts.
Most other commercial
(and 'industrial' products by commercial suppliers) use lowest-cost parts with
'gold-flash' rated at 30-50 insertion cycles. With 'gold-flash' the quantity of
gold on the contacts is unknown; it is a variable of the process. It doesn't take
many disconnects during troubleshooting to permanently damage 'gold-flash' parts.
Insist on quality 'gold-plating' of 30 micron or better.

| rdcxxxxx
cc - Removeable screw terminals with 2.5mm capacity |
Robust DataComm uses only
quality parts from vendors with published specs. We know that all of our screw
terminals have consistent force and spring ratings. They will hold your wires
indefinitely without vibrating loose.

rdcxxxxx sc - SC Subscriber/Standard

rdcxxxxx fc - FC Ferrule
fiber optic connector
rdcxxxxx sma - SMA screw-style
fiber optic connector
